Gutted an understatement, but there is a silver lining

After the trauma on Tuesday night against Leeds, the Reds faced a nearly impossible challenge down at Brighton in the new Amex Stadium. None of us expected anything more than a draw and would have easily taken a point at a very hard place to go, but as the game went on it looked like a win was inevitable, never mind a draw!

The story of our season so far has been conceding goals and after letting in four against Leeds midweek, a defensive line-up seemed on the cards which was the case. With Reid suspended and Lynch injured, Cotterill had to change it up a bit:

Camp
Gunter Morgan Chambers Cunningham
Mcleary Moussi Greening Anderson
Majewski
Tudgay

Personally, I was happy with this line-up. Good to see Mcleary back after his injury, Majewski getting a deserved start and also good to see Dex back on the bench.

After bossing the majority of the game, with Brighton having one shot on goal, chance after chance went begging and it seemed like it would just be ‘one of those days’. With record away attendances, the players were getting great support from our beloved away fans and it turned into a very frustrating and seemingly usual away days for Forest.

But with every cloud, there’s a silver lining and the fact that we took the game to Brighton and deserved nothing less than three points will be a positive boosts for the players.

With Crystal Palace coming to the City Ground on Saturday, hopefully after some extensive shooting practice in training all week, we can hopefully build on a very proud performance and provide the goods!
